Sprintbooster Anyone?

Since there has been a lack of new information / new discussion topics on this site lately I thought I would bring up something that I do not think has been discussed on here yet. Do any of you plan on getting a Sprintbooster installed on your 135's? I have it on my Benz and it made a world of difference. Some of the M3 guys swear by them. Does anyone know if they even offer one yet for the 335i? For those who do not know what this is the Sprintbooster is a little black box that modifies the signal coming out of the accelerator pedal assembly which eliminates the throttle lag associated with some drive by wire systems. It was like night and day on my Benz. Any thoughts?

I prefer to leave it to the engineers of BMW to provide me with the driving experience they see fit.

I paid 200 bucks for it. It does not add any power but it totally alters the throttle response of the car. Google Sprintbooster.

I installed it day 1 and love it. Keep in mind this mod is not for everyone.

From what i understand, this makes your throttle be really sensitive, so 10% throttle would be like 50% of the regular setup? :iono:

Those are a hoax. It remaps the throttle, that is all.

No, i wasn't saying it was bad, i wasn't sure on what it did. I think tis would help a ton for those with Dinan tuning.

It compresses the throttle to somewhere around 50%, so 50% to the floor is a dead zone. This is done to a lesser extent on stock 135s, the dinan mod changes this to be linear and enable more precise throttle control but people complained and I believe it is now not altering this.

I believe the "sport" button on the M3 does this also. The company that sells it implies it increases performance and charges way to much for what is essentially a resistor, so buyer beware.

did it get rid of the throttle lag? I find when i first floor it from partial throttle, it takes a split second for the car to 'wake up.' when i rev match into a lower gear and then floor it, ther's no lag.

Garage List
Since there is no lag, would it help with auto-x or is that not really the cause of lag when doing auto-x (due to the constant on/off and demand of the throttle?).

I assume this also means that your accelerations (off the line, etc.) are going to be faster and will need to shift that much quicker too?

Is this a "plug and play" that you would want to disconnect when taking it in for service?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks!

Its plug and play. Takes 5 minutes to install or remove. I dont know if this will help in an auto-x since it may be more difficult to control the throttle with the SB installed.

Acceleration definitely feels quicker since you barely tap the gas and the car is flying. Its hard to describe unless you drive the car with the SB installed. People argue that you get the same effect by simply flooring the car. In theory I can see how one may think that but the feeling is totally different.

What would eb the point of putting this on an M3, or an M5 that already has a sport button?
