Dead Mouse Scent Killing Me! Help Taking Apart Back Trunk Section of BMW X3 xdrive30e

Hi all,

I'm hoping to get some help here in this forum. I have a 2021 BMW X3 xDrive30e PHEV. It's been a great car but recently I started smelling a bad sour smell in the trunk. I am 95% sure it's a dead mouse because I smelled the exact same smell in my house when I had caught a mouse in a trap.

I've used a pinhole camera and found a few mouse droppings inside the inner parts of my trunk (see red arrows in the photo to see where I saw the mouse activity evidence) so I feel like if I take it apart, I can finally find the source and finally rid of the stink! I was able to take apart most of it but I'm stuck with this part (horizontal chrome piece highlight in blue in the photo). I'm afraid to break anything but once I take this out, I feel like I can figure out the rest.

Does anyone know how to take this apart properly? I can't find any manuals or schematics online that show how to do it.

Great thank you so much; where did you get this? Is it available online somewhere? So it looks like it somehow just pops off if I pull it up (vertically)?
