Thumbs up RG Sport - RaceChip GTS Black for G09 XM -- dyno & dragy results

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
For you who followed my IG, you may have seen my post.

For you who hasn't, feel free to follow my IG.

Anyway, I and RaceChip USA finally has finalized the US map as of last Saturday.
It has been a almost a week when I finally able to go and get it tested and dyno.
It drives strong and car feels lighter now with that extra hp and torque.

Enough chit chat, here are the numbers and pictures.

Mustang AWD Dyno with California 91 AKI.
Baseline power: 613 whp / 572 lb-ft torque
Map 7: 671 whp / 592 lb-ft torque

Conversion to crank hp is multiply by 1.2. So, at map 7, this XM is produced 805hp at the crank.

It is ready and available on my website for purchase since I helped in developing them. Feel free to PM me for any question.

Seems kinda low gains for a twin turbo v8 from BMW. Is it limited by the ev parts?

I wonder if this XM would beat a Trackhawk. What do you think?

X3m is faster than a trackhawk - they both do the 1/4 mile in just under 12 seconds so imagine this XM will have no trouble.

Came here to say the same thing. That doesn't seem like a whole lot for this big of an engine, especially compared to gains seen in other vehicles with that engine. Is the hybrid system limiting something?

Also posting gains in the chart compared to BMW published values doesn't really mean much. The test shows gains of 60 WHP and 20 wheel ft-lbs from the tune compared to the baseline runs done on same dyno, same car, same conditions. That's really what matters, the delta. Not vs. what's published.

Impressive results but a little disengenous with the gains in the marketing pics. You use baseline numbers from BMW (653hp) but use a 1.2 conversion from your dyno for the gain in bhp. If you applied the same 1.2 conversion to your actual dyno’d figures the baseline is 736hp. So the delta is nowhere near as high as advertised.

Ignoring the vehicle being tested and the dyno results for a moment, it's more important to recognize r33_RGSport as one of the best in the business.

Racechip's advertising when it comes to power gains is nothing short of deceitful and I am speaking as a previous customer of theirs.

This will be advertised as a 176hp gain when their own dyno testing shows nothing of the sorts.

First of all, thank you all for liking and commenting my post.
Also, thank you to Bimmerpost for featuring this thread.

I appreciate all of your feedback, negatives and positives. I am sure that it will help the manufacturers to make some improvements.

I am going to try to answer your questions as much as possible.

I don't think so, but this dyno test was done on Mustang (the heartbreaker) AWD Dyno with the worst gas you can have in California.
I purposely doing it with the worst gas to show that even with the worst gas, it still have a pretty good gain.
And as always, baseline, BMW underrated their power output.

The delta between stock and after not too bad IMO.
And to be honest, this is more than a pig, it is an elephant.

This always happens every time a car manufacturer changed their design language.
It happens with E39, F01, G07, G8x.
But, at the end of day, it grows on us.

I think it will in a long run since Trackhawk will breakdown first.

No doubt. Seen X3M walked on Turbo S.
Yet to see it in person though.

Agree. That's why I am doing my own dyno testing.

Different gas quality and different data used for the baseline.

I've said the same thing on G8x, but after a few mods, they do look better.

It is not, but you can say the same as Porsche GT3RS is slower than Porsche Turbo S.

That's where I come in to give an honest review.
But again, RaceChip is not the only one that doing such. There are many other big or even bigger brands doing the same thing. Even our government.

How is it deceitful? I’ve seen an F95 X5MC put down 699/699 at the wheels. That’s 800 at the crank @ 15%. 800 hp - 620 hp = 180 hp peak gain. They claim 120hp.

Despite whatever negative comments, I’m here to say OP has successfully and tastefully modded the first XM. On top of that he is a great business man, and always makes himself available to all of the members of these forums. Great job Ben! Enjoy your new beast.

Despite whatever the dyno says, the proof is in the 100-200 times. 1.5 seconds quicker is impressive for just a piggyback.
