Priority One Options - For US orders
For those of you unfamiliar with this program, it's a way to get colors/options that are not listed on brochures or configurators for US consumption. It's kind of a shadow of the full blown "Individual Program" offered for most of the rest of the world, where almost anything can be customized/changed.
Lemon leather was never "available" in the US, but our friends in Canada, and pretty much everywhere else, have it as an available option. Well, actually, it IS available, if you know how to get it... (and at no additional cost) Jon Shafer at bimmerfest posted a document on the MY2008 Priority One options for the X3, 3er, 5er, and 7er here. You can see that there are leather and trim options available, that you don't see on any ordering guide or configurator. If you compare their cost to the standard cost of a different color for the same item, you'll see there is no additional charges for leather color changes... There will likely be Priority One Options for the 1er too... especially if there are color options available in Canada that are not available in the US. This has included paint colors in the past as well... Just an FYI  |

There most certainly are additional charges for Priority One options. It clearly indicates it on the document as such. Those prices listed are what the dealer is supposed to charge for those particular options.
Sorry to burst your bubble.

No, there are not. Look at the cost of adding standard leather, compared to adding lemon leather... they cost the same.
Of course the options that have no standard equivalent, like the 5er 'anthracite headliner', will cost additional. No bubble bursted here. |

I speak from experience. The Individual interior on my M3 cost me $3880. Double what standard leather cost on it. Feel free to think what you want but you're in for quite a surprise when you price it out. In any case, lemon interior is an available color anyway is it not?

No, it's never been available as a listed leather color in the US, although out neighbors to the North can get it.
Individual is totally different than priority one options, but I would think you'd know that already. |

Priority One is very narrow in what you can and cannot do. They list specific things. It's not as carte blanche as the BMW Individual program that is available in other countries.
You can get special order paint, and sometimes Individual leather (as tdc did) in the US if you can find a dealer that will do it for you, but never on a leased car, and you'll have to plan on giving a HUGE down payment (or prepayment) because of the laws in the US that allow you to walk from the car, once you see it. They don't want an orange car with purple interior sitting on thier lot, bacause somebody ordered it and bailed. |
