about vishnu tuning
i know the vishnu stage 0-3 is available for 335i, and the increase in hp are insane for the price, and modification, and the decrease in #'s from 0-60 and quarter mile time is insane as well.
just wondering how accurate these #'s are. cuz Im not sure if just tuning the ecu can make that big of a difference. what do you guys think? cuz if its the case then im getting me one of these vishnu tunings for sure. |

Most factory forced cars get huge benefits from ECU work. I had 2 supercharged Grand Prixs that would get 30 something wheel HP from an ECU reprogram and air intake (exhaust is worth even more).
It will rule. |

You don't need a custom tune, just procede v2.0 + TBE. That is exactly what people have already dynoed with those mods. Add 10-15whp to your numbers if you have 93 octane. |

I will never give Shiv a dime, because based on his track record, he may turn his back on this platform as soon as the next thing comes around the corner.
Sorry Shiv, but that's the reputation you have, and that's the way I've seen it. |

If I decided to lease a 135i, would I be able to get the vishnu tuning and then program it back to stock when I bring my car to the dealership? I'm definitely am going to do this regardless if i buy it or lease it.

yea shiv turned his back on wrx's, turned to evo's, then from evo's to 335i. we'll c tho, maybe this will keep his interest for awhile. Plus, i'm not gonna mod this car as heavily as my wrx. The most i'd do is probably pnp the stock turbos.

I'm not a procede fanboi or anything but I never understood these comments. From my perspective, I could give a shit less who someone is or where they've been before as long as I get my money's worth......which I have....why else would I care? I could give a shit less if shiv went to any other car in the world. If I was him and I saw a new N54 going into many, many different models for the first time, as well as a turbo BMW for the first time in forever.......I'd go where the money is, period. Everytime I've seen shiv respond to people say he left....he says that he still tune 5+ evo's/wrx's/week......Isn't that enough? |

I think part of it is that he got started with Subarus... and it's Subarus that put him on the map. So by all rights, he owes the Subaru community as much as they own him. Another part of it is that his offerings for the WRX have been the same since '02/'03. Sure, he may tune WRXs every now and then, but most of the R&D (and the cool toys that result from it) are for the new platforms. Contrast this with other tuners like Cobb, which used to re-flash customers' actual ECUs in-house (which meant you had to remove your ECU & mail it in, like Vishnu still makes you do). Unlike Vishnu, Cobb has moved on to support other platforms but still puts R&D into *new* products for Subarus, such as hand-held customer-operated re-flashing devices, which means you no longer have to remove & send out your ECU. |

Ya, I know cobb, I was there a month ago. I see your point of view, I guess the whole community thing is lost on me. I could care less if he left BMW right now, someone else would simply fill his shoes.

I don't think you are seeing the bigger picture. Shiv runs a business and I don't think he has the man power that Cobb does. Once his sales on a platform start to taper off and fall, he has to move on to a more lucrative platform just to stay a float. Frankly the way I see it is he is the best in the industry at what he does and is proven with results. There aren't many options out there so it isn't saying too much but that is regardless of the fact that he consistently makes more power than others. This reminds me of the Mobil 1 debate. People hate on Mobil 1 for compromising their true synthetic lineup after they were fighting about Castrol's "synthetic" claims. Castrol was selling group III hydrocracked base stocks as "full synthetic". Mobil was selling more expensive group IV PAO as full synthetic's and rightly so. Mobil lost the debate and incorporated group III's in their "full synthetic" lineup. The only way people found out was that their max operating temp, written on the bottle, dropped. People started asking questions and weren't given answers. VOA(etc.) showed that they in fact were using group III's and they still won't give a straight answer. This made a lot of people mad for what ever reason. But when you think about it, they are a business. They need to make money to continue to do business. They aren't your buddy or your friend. They want your money, and sometimes will do what ever it takes to get it. |

I know of Shiv through a long time friend of mine. Shiv has used his Dyno in Westminster to tune a 335i. I hope to work w/him on my upcoming 135i. He has the product that I have come to expect in todays times. Plug & Play is the name of the game.

I used to have a VW gti 1.8t. THE APR chip was a beast! The thing i loved about it though, you can hide your chip so when you go into dealers the chip turns off and they never found out about it. so you warranty won't be voided.
Just wondering if this will do that too. I m worried that if i put this, i will lose my free service and the extras. |
