Stripes or have I just got Friday fever?
Maybe I am just getting a bit carried away with all this and have been infected with the 2002 references BMW are impressing upon us all. But what do you think about going the whole hog with an AW (or Silver) car and getting some stripes on it...though maybe not the word turbo? My car will be leased so no worries about resale! I am alrady thinking this is a bad idea...

I'm with BMWeber, although I think maybe the other guys are right that the larger tats are a bit OTT. I'm 40 too, after all. Still the 2002ti was a road car, wasn't it? What's wrong with a bit of ol' fashioned go-faster stripes? GT3 Rs's have loads of stickers.
Also the car (135i) is an 'm' car of a sort in the sense that it doesn't come any other way and it has m badging on the sills - so you can make a case for it! |

I may get flamed but I've never been a fan of those stripes and colors...I dunno just doesn't do it on any car for me.

i'd never do it but the subtle "turbo" with the red and blue stripes on the side like in that bottom pic would look clean, probably pretty damn good.
somebody did a bunch of BMW paint/stripe scheme photoshops on an alpine white a couple months ago.. do a little searchin.. i think its in the dedicated AW photoshops thread? |

like rupertisalive said those graphics on the 2002 turbo were standard street attire for that car. this car is going to be a bit of a play/heavy track car for me so I am going for a bit flashy and over the top. race wise not rice |

I have to say I like the car posted above. The subtle striping is the way to go if you go at all. I wouldn't go all out with the curved stripes like the 'chopped car a few posts above. It'll detract from the sexiness of the 1er. Just my opinion though.

what about the motorsport flag on the front corner?
Like this, but I don't know about M colors though: I've seen nice black fade to white ones... Just a thought. |

The 3.0CSL is awesome, the 320i is quite attractive as well, but, on the street, definitely over the top, IMO.

The only way I would ever sport stripes or stickers, is if it came w/a paycheck every month for the displaying. Otherwise its just another reason to get pulled over.
