Schroth Harness

Does anyone have experience with these in BMW's? I have heard of them used in Mini's and have always wanted one, so Im thinking of looking into one for my future 135.

Have had one in my Mini and my A4 before that. They're awesome. If you get the quick-fit ones you can take em in and out as needed.

In fact, a friend of mine hit the wall at the kink at Road America two weeks ago at 100+mph head on and he and his passenger walked away. They both had Schroth harnesses on.

Iv'e used them in my e46 m3. Held me tight when I hit the wall. No injury, except for pride.

I use them in both my e90 and my e35/6. I know the owner of HMS Motorsports (who own the site in the first post), and was working with them to get quick-fits created for the e90 since I got my e90 in 2005. The belt buckles/clips are different from the e46 and e36 than the e9x. Well, after waiting for almost 18months, I gave up and went with Schroth Rallye 4 bolt-ins. To date, there is no e9X option for quickfits.

I guess the moral of this story is that we don't know the seatbelt buckle configuration yet, so quick-fits may not be an option.

I've heard quite a few of my MINI drivin track rat friends tell stories like this...it's amazing!!!! Makes me want 'em for every day.

Used the clip-in Schroth Rallye 4 in my E36 M3. When I got it tight enough to really hold me in it tended to ride up. 5-point harnesses would eliminate that issue.

I'd rather use the factory 3 point seat belt than any 4 point harness, no matter the manufacturer.

I'm throwing ideas around of building a 350Z track car and buying a Z4MR, but the 135i might solve both problems (fun street car, a track car I can beat on).
