2009 E92 TCU replacement and coding
Hello all
Just a quick question, The car in question is a 2009 335i xDrive pre-LCI if it matters. My hands-free Bluetooth and other such functions have stopped working. I have traced the problem down to a busted telematics control unit. If I were to buy OEM used/refurbished TCU (not shelling out for a new one) and install it, would it have to be coded in any way? Or could I just slap it in and call it a day? I am not talking about a combox retrofit or anything, just replacing the module with the same kind already in the car, same part numbers, etc. If there is coding needed, could I be walked through the coding steps? I have BimmerGeeks standard tools. Thanks for the help! |

You might as well get a used Mulf 2 hi or Combox you can find
them on Ebay. That will give you USB . The TCU is pretty much useless now that there is no 2g telephone. Or you could get a Mr12volt adapter that gives you bluetooth phone bluetooth streaming usb and sd card plus another aux. https://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1181654 TCU probably work right away for bluetooth if it's the only problem Mulf I think requires the microphone connection to be re-pinned. Go to the coding subforum for instructions on modifying the module settings.(or stereo sub forum) https://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27 https://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=368 If you have idrive the next on to. https://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=122 |
