Ticking engine noise
On cold start, my engine makes the noise documented in the videos below. Anyone recognize this? I took it to a mechanic who first couldn't hear it and then said it seems normal to them. Does it seem normal to you?
The frequency of that beat goes up as the speed goes up, and it seems to disappear when the acceleration pedal is not pressed. https://youtube.com/shorts/VU73jDoRNMc |

viridium, can you share more details about the car? Year, model, build date, mileage, any mods?

One thing I’d check, especially if any work has been done to it all recently, is the sound proofing that goes around the motor/the engine cover are all mounted in place properly

This has nothing to do with any soundproofing. While clicking is for direct Injection engines, that is pretty loud. It’s either the timing chain going bad, or the fuel injectors.
Does it subside As you drive the car and let the engine warm up?
