Battery Mount in Trunk
After having learned that the battery will be mounted in the trunk in another thread I wanted to see if anyone had a picture of the mounting location-compartment?
I am hoping a lightweight(16lb) drycell from oddessy will fit in to quickly drop 20lb+. I have been using one on my mazda6 for 2+ years and it has started fine in teen temperatures. Just need to be sure to drive it atleast once a week or use battery tender to keep it from being run down. http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc680series.htm 680 Cranking Amps 220 CCA (worked fined for me in teen temperatures) |

Here's a pic of the battery in the trunk - Chris' description is correct!!! And remember kids, there is no such animal as a 'maintenance-free' battery, take it from someone that still has a can of 'NO-OX-ID "A"' dielectric grease (conductive cosmoline to be more exact ; -).

Thanks this is exactly what I wanted. Hard to see depth from this angle but it looks huge. Should be able to put an odessy in there pretty easily maybe even laying flat for a lower center of gravity.
Rought estimate stock battery is 40 lbs. 40lb-16lb = 24-25 pounds lost and lower C.G. |
