Sirius free trial?

Does anyone know how long the free trial period is for the factory installed sirius option? My current Sirius subscription in up for renewal this month and I'm debating whether or not to renew it or just go a month without it until I take delivery of the 135. Thanks

Good question. I got 6 free months with my e90. My wife's Audi was only 3 months for free... I'm transferring my membership to the 135i from the e90, so no freebies for me. It used to be very well stated that they include 6 months of free introductory service for activating the Sirius subscription. I see it doesn't mention it any longer.

You may want to ask on the sirius website if that is still offered.

I'm almost 100% sure its 3 free months with every new auto now, except a Mini Cooper where you get a free lifetime sub for that radio. But you may want to double check me. I got 3 months free with VW R32.

What is the difference between the $595 Satellite Radio (described as Sirius in the detail popup) on the options page of the configurator and the $495 Sirius Satellite radio (and one year subscription) on the Accessories page of the configurator?

Hmm, interesting, i think its cause the Satellite Radio is integrated into the Nav for the options. Thats only a guess, but thats a ridiculous price discrepency.

If you look closely at the details on the accessories version, the $495 price doesn't include installation, whereas the other one on the options page obviously does. That's why the price differential is there.

The brochure states that SIRIUS includes 1 year subscription.

Are you certain? Why would they provide the two different options an the configurator? It doesn't make sense to me.

One is an option figured in as installed on your delivered car, the other is an add-on, just as if you were buying a clear bra, that they can add on at any time.

When I used on-line activation of my Sirius receiver, I was given 'nine (9) months service with three (3) free months', but some of that may have been for being an existing Sirius customer...or maybe that doesn't matter.

Anyway, I got a one (1) year subscription at no charge.

I got the same oddly worded 1 year package. We signed up for it at the dealers desk. This is my first account with Sirius, so apparently, it's available to everyone.

My paperwork says:
"Prepaid service - 9 months service w/3 Free months"
So, I take it that I have a contract with Sirius for 9 months and the first 3 months are paid for.

Whoa! I just logged in to post this same info. Mine says the same thing. The Sirius option includes a year of service, broken out as 9 months prepaid, and 3 free months.

TP_135, if you log into Sirius.com, you can set up your free internet access to sirius radio, and see the details of your account, plus add some free channels (like Playboy), if you choose to.

Another cool thing you can do with your Sirius on-line account: connect the PC to an FM transmitter and broacast it to a whole-house intercom system and/or home stereo.

Beats AM/FM, and it saves on paying for another account!

Agree, but it's only mono, not stereo, unless you upgrade the on-line Sirius account for and addtl $2.99/mo. I listen to it at my desk at work over my Sirius WM5 app equipped cellphone, streaming over the net. It works great.

Reviving this thread for a question -- can anyone tell me when the clock starts ticking on the Sirius 3 free/9 prepaid months? Is it at time of delivery, or does it take place when the customer officially activates the account with Sirius? The timing of this will have implications for European Delivery....

Clock starts ticking when you activate it (or your CA activates it for you on re-delivery in the States).
