Hi. Assuming it was maintained it's reliable. Good Luck.

At that mileage you might see some cooling system issues crop up (thermostat, water pump, hose fittings, etc). Suspension bits and pieces will start to wear. Control arms, swaybar endlinks, etc. Basically anything with a rubber bushing. Maybe a wheel bearing. As long as you budget for these things (if they have not already been remedied) you should be good.
I would probably ask for a service history for the car, and possibly take it to an independent BMW mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. Could save you thousands in future repairs.

The good news is that a x3 with over 100k miles will offer you plenty of opportunities to assess it’s reliability. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for a vehicle to just drive… there are better choices.

Are you buying a vehicle that you need to depend on as a daily driver or is this going to be a second option for weekends? If the former, you might want to consider other options. Only consideration would be if this is a one owner with complete service history available.

Normally, I would agree. Except for the fact I've owned two Toyotas and driven each one over 240k miles with no major repairs. So, depends on the vehicle, who owned it, and how its been maintained. Some vehicles last a lot longer than others. Agree a 6 year old BMW with multiple owners not the best choice.
