Heads up on blow off valves on the 135i
AFTER TEST FITTING WE FOUND OUT THE UR BOV FITS!! I HAVE IT INSTALLED AND IT WORKS GREAT!!!!
I bought the UR 335i blow off valve kit to fit on to my 135i a few months ago thinking it would fit because it was the same engine. I tried to install it yesterday and the intake pipe that goes connected to the throttle body is totally different in the 135i. Thus, the 335i blow off valve kits will not work on the 135i. Vendors please get to work on a kit for the 135i. Thanks in advance! |

I have it up for sale. I need a BOV or Forged DV because I have read the stock plastic ones are good for only up to 12lbs of boost. Let's just say Im running a bit more than that bwahahaha.

Says who? I've spent a lot of time over on e90post, and I don't think this is a commonly held opinion. Many people are replacing their diverter valves, but that has more to do with improved function and response over the stock units, not any fear of blowing them out with too much boost pressure.

Sell the Bov as someone said get a Dv. As an Audi Guy I can understand that you want some PSSHHHITTTT sound but you'll probably end up running richer and throwing CEL. Stay with Dv or if you want some sound a CAI will help. Worst case scenario an hybrid BOV(on 1.8t 80% recirculated-20% air) or twin piston like the forge 004.The turkey sound is annoying some how. Dv for me this time

The n54 runs a MAF sensor not a MAP sensor so venting to atmosphere does not cause it to run richer or trigger cel lights. I will probably end up running Forged dV's. We will see.

You have that backwards, it runs a MAP snesor not a MAF sensor and you wouldn't have to sell the BOV, just route the vent back into the intake instead of buying a diverter valve seeing as how they are basically the same thing.

I stand corrected thanks. Im selling because the pipe for the 335i intake is totally different than the one for the 135i. So the current BOV kits wont work.

The air is also metered AFTER the BOV, in the manifold, hence the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor so the ECU doesn't think the vented air is there.
