VOICE COMMAND

OK...so I've never had anything like this voice command.
IT'S AWSOME...........
You want to change to another radio station you say "SAT Radio station 21" or "FM 98.7" It verbally repeats your request and changes the station....cool. No fiddling with the Drive controller or anything.
OR want to check on your tire pressure....."TPM" and you get the screen showing the car with nice green (OK) tires.....

OK so I'm like a kid with a new Christmas toy..........Very cool function

And while I was sitting in the driveway playing with this new toy, I got a telephone call on my bluetooth phone that muted the radio and showed me the caller on the screen before I pushed the steering wheel button to answer.

i think you can say "help" or "options" or something like that and it will list your available commands at the moment.

i haven't had a chance to play with it as much as i want. when i tried once it didn't understand my voice very well. i'm sure i can train myself to use it though.

I tried one last night, but it didn't work. I kept saying, "I am a 135i, and I am king of the hill". Not sure, but the car wouldn't repeat that back. :biggrin:

To be honest, I haven't even tried the voice commands yet.

Does voice command work for non-iDrive 135's??? other than for the phone?

I don't think so, but someone without I-Drive will need to confirm. I thought it was part of the I-Drive package.

I have voice command on my non-iDrive car.. it's part of the BT/BMW Assist package and part of the Premium Package. Basically, it works for the phone only.

Btw, I tried to get it to change the voice to a female and then get some leg from it last night, and it kept on telling me "unknown command". :iono: :wink:

That's funny, mine appeared to not work either, but when I looked at the Radio screen, it displayed, 'SHUT UP AND DRIVE'.

You can't actually check the pressures, even with Nav / iDrive. It just takes you to the tyre pressure warning screen, where you'll see either everything being fine, or a warning about a tyre with low pressure... I don't know if TPM is an option that's available without iDrive - somehow I doubt it, but a trup to the configurator will reveal all

Well, regardless, it sounds pretty interesting and I can't wait to get my car so I can play! And drive!!
