E90 Rear bumper mod- tough choice to make.

hi guys. anybody having a tough time deciding on a rear bumper change?
my front bumper mod to kerscher was fairly easy. looked great, aggressive and yet understated with a larger scoop and nice lower chin fins.
choosing the rear bumper proved to be far more difficult as there was a decision whether to stick with left sided exhausts or bilateral/quads.
M tech looks smart but black diffuser still a bit bland, kerscher rear dull unless u go for quad look. ACS rear diffuser for m tech looks promising. seen the long list of aftermarket items, lumma, reiger, hamann, hartge, mattig etc. I still cannot decide and i am not keen to stick with my stock rear bumper. anybody in a similiar dilemma?

the m-tech diffuser does not come black. It's a flat graphite color. You can paint it any color you want.

i felt the kerscher rear did not have the same 'wow' factor as the front. not too hot about the concave middle part. looks very ordinary without the concave middle part of the bumper with the single exhaust look.

hi ksfrogman, if i went with m tech on my SG car, i would spray it black as grey with SG looks quite similiar and not very striking. did u find the ACS diffuser for the m tech bumper? i think i gave you the part no in the prev thread.

hi hunter. ACS is usually my next choice after M tech. ACS , i feel has gone very angular for the E90 with a hint of Jap look for the rear bumper. the ACS rear diffuser for the Mtech rear has more subtle diffuser fins. looked nicer on e91/ bottom left pic. what do you guys think of reiger rear bumper?

You gotta get the back done or it will look weird. They also might think you were cheap and couldn't afford it. It will only compliment the front and separate you from the rest.

the lumma looks very nice if you have that exaust set-up, but without it, it looks like it would be very bland.

hi climkt,
i didn't find the ACS diffuser online. i'm actually fine with the looks of the SG m-tech one. it has flat paint, whereas the rest of the bumper is shiny SG. for me, i like the subtle aggressive look (emphasis on "subtle"). my tastes always change, but for the time being, i feel that the bmw is already a classy car, and i wouldn't want to take away from those sculpted lines via old skool styling such as the pontiac grand prix or grand am.

for those interested in the rieger kit, you can contact DTMRyan at DTMAutohaus. he's a member here on e90post.com.

I agree. The Kerscher quad is the best aftermarket rear bumper that I've seen.

at the moment, the 2 top contenders for my choice of rear bumper are m tech and kerscher. m tech is a safe option and is OEM. kerscher goes with front kit but sadly, i feel it looks rather plain without quad exhausts, reiger is loud but does look a bit cheap and is not very upmarket.

I'm looking forward to seeing LWL's Kerscher quad set-up next weekend in San Francisco. From what I understand, the Eisenmann quad and the Kerscher quad are not aligned in the same vertical position.

actually, if u study both stock and kerscher 'non quad' pipe rear bumpers again closely, u will release that if the concave middle part of kerscher rear bumper were filled/ covered up with plastic, it will be transformed back into stock bumper. i think i will stick with m tech . kerscher should really come up with a more distinctive and aggressive look for the rear to go with its superb front kit.

ksfrogman, thanks for posting the close up shot of the M-Tech bumber/diffuser; that sold me on the M-Tech rear for my car. As you said, it's aggressive without being too flashy.
I'm assuming that the center diffuser portion is unpainted?

I'm planning on going with the M-Tech kit all around, does anyone know if the BMW clear bra will still fit the front bumper? If not, are there any options I have for putting a clear bra on the M-Tech front?
