Will the wider rear rims/tires fit on the front?
Does anyone know for sure if the rear tire/rim combo will fit on the front? I have heard that it may not, but for me this would solve the understeer issue with out changing the rear sway bar. It would probably help stopping and hurt fuel mileage as well. Any one know difinitively?

Assuming you mean a 135i, the 245 tires will not fit on the 7.5" wide front wheels. As for using the 8.5" wheels on the front, that depends on the offset difference (if any) between the front and rear. Someone posted that the offsets were 49/52. If they are that close, then putting rears on the front will have them sticking out of the fenders, by my guess. You'd have better luck putting 128 rears on the front.

I believe the stock rear offset is 47 mm so the rears will fit on the front with a 5-10mm spacer. I'm pretty sure a 5 will cut it. I currently have a set of 17X8.5 38mm offset with 245 40 17 tires(almost the exact diameter and width as the stock tires)on the front of my car with about 7-8mm clearance to the strut and they don't stick out of the fenders.

As always, easiest way to know is to have a nice forum member who already has one to give it a try. |

Several places in the 135i specs, including the sticky at the top of this forum, show 135i wheel offset to be 49 front and 52 rear for the OE 264 and 261 18x7.5 front and 18x8.5 rear wheels.

I believe that to be correct because I was just looking for the offset on my stock rear wheels and the only number I could fined was a 52. it said ST52 instead of the usual ET52 or it could have been my eyes. so a 10mm spacer would be perfect. someone with a 10 mm spacer hanging around try this  I've only got 15mm spacers hanging around

A 10m or 12 mm spacer might do the trick.
