I'm interested provided the wheel will allow for a decent amount of tire upfront. If it can, then I have money ready to throw down. It seems that some have even been having fitting 225s up front with an 8.5" wheel.

Pretty sure it'll be 18s. I'm not sure 19s will work as well as 18s in terms of getting some decent tire under the car, especially in the front.

actually 19s were fine. the setup i ran, 19x8.5 35 offset all the way around with 235/40/19 fr and 265/40/19 rear would've been fine if i had lowered the car and added some camber, and plus a fender roll.

One of the appealing aspects of the Morr wheel is that it will be lighter than stock in 18" form by several pounds. Personally, I don't see the increase in unpsrung mass, and added rolling resistance from 19s to be terribly appealing. If it weighs more than the stock wheels, costs more to replace tires, and makes the car slower, why bother? :iono: I know some go more for looks, which is fine. I'm just generally more performance minded when it comes to wheels and tires.

Thanks, tjockey. I posted to the prior thread to clarify.
I'm adding you to the list above.

I'm just saying that the wheels alone will weigh nearly 5 pounds more a corner, with an extra 5-10 from tires. That's a huge difference, and the extra rolling resistance alone makes a difference in acceleration. Not bashing on those who like em big, just saying when I upgrade wheels, I generally go for light, wide, and sticky!

The MORR's VS7 in 19" are suppose to weigh around 20 lbs.
And I noticed improved acceleration with them after swapping out the HEAVY stock wheels/tires. |

And with only 5-10 pounds total savings per corner, with increased rolling resistance, imagine what it would feel like with an additional 5-10 pounds over your current setup, and less rolling resistance.
If people want 19s, that's fine, I'm just saying that I'd prefer a more performance minded setup.

well yea, of course. we would all like the lightest strongest, best looking wheels. But we can't always afford them. The s2 reps i had on can be had for under 1k for a set. I dont really like the look of it, but it was just laying around the shop, and the guys wanted to see if they would fit and how it would look, so we slapped it on. It's off now, i'm probably looking at either some 18' rota torques, LM reps, or Modulars.
I'm kinda thread jacking XD bump for VS8! |
