For a rear sway bar installation, I'd say it was one of the most labor intensive ones I've done due to the fact that the bar is sandwiched between the body and rear sub-frame.
The rear sub-frame had to come down about 4 inches, the rear brake lines had to be disconnected (and consequently the brakes had to be bled, of course). It took me about 4-5 hours total (I think). I may be able to do the next one a little faster.. I had to run for some DOT4 brake fluid..didn't foresee having to bleed the brakes for a sway bar installation . I now keep some on the shelf for the next one |

Accoring to H&R's website, their bar is 20mm. I didn't measure the stock one, but it appeared to be about 12-15 mm just eyeballing it. I took some photos, but I'll wait for the OP to post his..he may have the two next to each other for comparison.

The car drives a lot better now. Before i could notice the understeer n roll at 60mph. Last nite with no one around i tried to induce understeer by rapid lane changing and turning 90 degrees at traffic lights without dropping the speed. I would say the best couple of hundred bucks I have spent so far. I won't go as far as saying the understeer is eliminated totally but a lot better. I guess it'll be the best by also adding either kw3 or pss10 coilovers. To put in a line, the 2 things i hate about the car are 1) tiniest rear swaybar 2) the exhaust with tons of dings created by bmw which restricts the free flow of the exhaust. The front BMW swaybar isn't bad at all and I have no plans of changing it. Jan from Speedindustry swapped it for me. He is an awesome guy. It was more like a weekend saturday project for us and he answered all my silly q's and took very good care of my car. He is so friendly and I have found someone whom I can trust very much. |

Wow...that's like pencil skinny. Why even bother with that balemic sway bar?

I have a quick q. when i was reading the HR installation sheet it says using the inner most holes provides the max tightness rate. Wondering if we used the inner holes or outerholes? Thanks! It has been an awesome experiance:roundel: |
