Window Chips

Driving down the motorway this morning to work and i heard a LOUD SNAP, thought something major happened. Sounded like a baseball hitting the windshield. A minute later, i noticed a chip .. a nice deep one too.

Is it okay to just get it filled? how much does that normally cost?

I got one filled for about the same. If the chip is fairly deep, don't wait too long to fix it or it may spread.

A lot of insurance companies will fix it for free. Say, USAA for example.

Call your Ins company. Most will do the chip for free so they can potentially avoid having to pay more for a new windshield later.
