BMW Alarm vs Aftermarket
Does anybody know the features of the BMW alarm for the 1 series?
Also saw the following aftermarket alarm which appears to integrate nicely. http://www.soundmaster.com.au/list.a..._Series_FITTED Is this an alternative to the factory alarm? |

Yea, this alarm works perfectly with my BMW... i bought the same one from http://www.soundmaster.com.au as well. They told me that that this alarm is an "upgrade" to the original factory alarm, and just added extra alarm features to the original system.

You can install an aftermarket alarm very easily using a DEI DB-All can-bus module.
I went with a 2 way paging Viper for ~200 shipped, and the DB-All module was ~30 shipped. You only have to hook up 5 wires: 12v constant 12v ignition Can bus high Can bus low Siren I installed the siren in the rear wheel well where the factory one would go. With the viper can you still use the original car key remote or you must use the aftermarket one?
