Strange tapping sound

I noticed the other day when parking the car that I can hear a small tapping sound as the engine is ticking over. I can only hear this standing outside the car and the noise is from the engine area although hard to pinpoint. I have to park on a slight hill so was wondering if the angle the car is at has anything to do with it.

Will investigate this evening. If anyone has any ideas???

i think i remember reading somwhere it is the water cooler or the turbo's ticking over and cooling down?!

Tis no problem, just the engine tappets.

Happens when the engine is cooling down.

Go out and nail the car silly for 30 mins, come back, switch off and listen!
