Question Front Mud Flaps

Can you get them for the 1 coupe? I seen some on the United BMW website, but they look like for the rear. I want some front ones to protect the sills from stone chips etc.

Mud Flaps

Mud flaps are available from BMW, relatively easy to install, protect around wheels, and look great.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think they would be worth it as I know how bad paint can get chipped on the sides and how bad it ends up looking...esp black

Alext,
did you ever find anything more out about these - or pics as to how they look fitted?
I think they would be worth having too.

I've seen them on one and thyre fugly. And anyways those flaps will collect small dust and sand inside and sand the paint. My 1er is now four years old and has nothing on those fenders, paint is still like new. And yes we have ice, snow, salt and sand on roads for winter.

I have them in my living room right now, both fronts and rears.

Not sure when I will be able to install them, could be today, could be a week, but I need to get them on.

I will post after pics in this thread when they are installed.

I had 3M film installed on the area behind the front and rear tires. On the front, it's on the flat area of the fender and extends upward about 6". I also had it installed down the full length of both lower panels. I'll see if I can get some pictures later today. I know it's installed in the proper areas because by the time I got home there was a slight amount of dirt thown up on the film.

That would be excellent. I trhought apart from the obvious function...they would also help "flesh out" the bottom of the car a little...make its stance appear a little wider than it really is.
Post away when those suckers are on JB135i!!

Pics of flaps

Some pictures were posted by Coolguy on his new K&N's, that show the flaps. They are easy to take off, and probably should be every few months to clean out any trapped sand or dirt.

In looking at them I am not sure taking them off would be needed. They have very large drain holes in them, that look to be adequate. Of course no one at this point can say for sure without end user, use and abuse.

They are each held on by a few screws and an adhesive strip. That strip would have to be replaced if you pulled them as well. Not a huge issue if there was a buildup of junk that needed attention.

I am shooting for Sunday afternoon to put these on. The instructions say not to drive the car for 6 hours after the install 8(.

Any more pics of these? Thanks for those above, but they are kind of lost against the AW on my monitor.

I was thinking that the mud flaps would look good primed and painted to body color.
