Zuzu Rob is talking about the new apple store that is owned and operated by Apple themselves. Most around Sydney are run by NextByte....

I've seen the official Apple stores in various cities around the world, and to be quite honest, there is nothing in there that next-byte couldn't offer!

They could offer better service and support. Although I've been to several places that were o-k, but their genius bar is usually spot on.

I'll still continue to support my local mac reseller. It's all about the brand, rather then the customer service

It's opening right opposite from me! I think an early to mid June unveiling is most likely and I have no doubt it will coincide with the release of the new generation iPhone into Australia. Woo Woo!

RobLS your my hero!
I LOVE APPLE!!! i hate PC's they make me hate life. most people that dislike apple just down right dont know how to use it, so they dont like it, cuz they are not good at it. i was going to have to use it at my new job, and i said no and started using my macbook instead of the PC (Piece of Crap) they wanted me to use, and it worked out fine, they said it wont work with anything they had going and it acually worked better! i used to work for apple, best company to work for.

I use to be an apple hater, big time. Then I decided to try one when they had their OS X Tiger, back on their latest ibm machines, and thought it was greater, then in months they transitioned to intel and blew windows out of the water. Its actually been proven too that it runs windows better than a PC. And btw, a lot of PC apps out there now can run with mac, for the select few, I have windows on mine when I HAVE to go to it. The single click mouse prob, no. Just plug in any mouse you have and it will work, same with peripherals. This OS runs smoother and cleaner than Windows by far, both XP and Vista. Statistics also show that Apple is growing very fast compared to its competitors, one being Microsoft, who actually dropped as of late.

Hahaha...good to see I started some decent conversation with some insightful responses. I will admit that I do like the look of some of their products, but what I dislike about Apple is that when you back to back something like the iPod against, say, a Creative Zen Media Player, the apple is by far inferior, yet gets the lion's share of the market. I'll stick to my slightly left of centre view and stay away from such products.

I hate everything that Apple stands for, that being said I still own an iPod and iPhone. I didn't buy them because the shiny apple on the back either.
Here's a brief explanation why: It seems like every other month they come out with a new version of the same thing. They market the piss out of it and make people think they "need" the new product or they're no longer "hip." They're marketing consists of flashy colors and trendy dancing, trying to give the illusion of "hipness" Seriously, how many different versions of the iPod have there been in the past 5 years? I'm not talking about the nano or touch models either, just a regular iPod. Sure it's good to update your product, but it seems like they're just doing it to sell more products. When I bought my iPhone I thought it was the biggest waste of cash ever. It doesn't really do anything a normal phone can't do except has a touch screen. The touch screen gets dirty after about an hour's use too. However, once you unlock the iPhone and can download all the 3rd party apps THEN it's worth the cash IMO.

Hate apple for their marketing and the constant push to improve their lines? I call that good business, they found people want it, so they dish it. And they found where and how to sell it for the market.
