Photo request: Front sway bar

Hi guys,
Can anyone post pictures of their front sway bar, either just from under the hood looking down (look near the rad) or under the car with the shroud off?

Thanks !!

Kinda difficult picture to get since the under carriage of the 135i is pretty much sealed. I think I can sneak a pic but it wont be great.

pretty tough. looks like a nice time consuming mod to take care of, but enjoyable none the less.

Thanks for those.. not looking good. Quite the PITA by the looks of it.

How about one from the top down? There's a space between the block and rad. If you aim the camera down there with some light, you can see it clearly. Are there any notches in it?

The engine block is quite large they is very little space, I will give it a try later today.

The OE front bar is hollow construction to save weight according to BMW.

Not positive, but I don't think the BMW Performance suspension includes sway bars. The ones I have seen are H&R and Eibach. They can be seen at Tirerack.

Does anyone know if the 128i comes with sway bars? And if so... the same or different than 135i?

I just upgraded to H&R and would like to sell my OEM BMW front sway bar/bushings. Perhaps a 128i owner would be interested (for a good price); the BMW bar is a lot lighter than the H&R (due to hollow construction as mikeo described above).

Ahhhhh... but if you look closely, the 135i (and 128i with M Sports Suspension) is actually P/N 31356766288 (ends with 288, not 286)... dia. is same, but I wonder what's different (if anything).

Once you pull the plastic convers off, the front sway is cake to remove/install. I'd say it's definatly doable for the average home garage warrior.

It's the rear that is a $300-400 job to get to.

PS - HIGHLY recommended that you do both front and rear.

Thx! It took my local mechanic/shop 12 MINUTES to remove/change out my front sway bar! ...including lifting car and removing all 18 screws holding the plastic underbody piece. 2 guys with air tools... damn fast!

Maybe they can do the rear in 45 minutes.

If they're really good, they can do the rear bar in ~1 hour. Took us about that time with two guys.

But definately don't try this one at home.

why not- if you have a lift and air tools? Might as well also replace the rear subframe bushings at the same time too-

I installed Front and Rear Hotchkis sways using only floorjack and jackstands at home. Front took me less than an hour - rear took me 2 hours - I do have air tools.

Can you provide a little bit more specifics on how you lowered the subframe as well as inserted the sway for tips? Thanks! Good stuff.
