best way to remove dealer stickers

The dealer put his stupid sticker on my trunk. Piss me off! What is the best way to get it off from experience??? It is on there pretty good so it isn't coming off by hand easily.

Is it just a sticker? If so, get a hairdryer and heat it up a bit and carefully peel it off (it should curl up a bit around the edges). Don't take a scraper to it - use your fingernail and keep your palm facing out (less chance of digging into the clearcoat that way). Once off, and the paint is cool, hit it with a little 3M Adhesive Remover and then wax that spot pronto.

Thanks for the hints! I got my adhesive remover the other day. I cleaned the car and got out my hairdryer. My neighbour saw me using the hairdryer on my car and nearly pissed himself laughing. He figured I was going to dry my car this way...not! The corners of the stickers came loose after maybe 30 seconds with the hairdryer. I was able to get my nail under it and it came off fairly easily. I didn't even have to use the adhesive remover. It left nothing behind. I washed it off, hit it with some paint cleaner/swirl remover and a coat of wax and it looks perfect. You can't tell anything was ever there. Yee Hah! Thanks for the help.

Penetrating oils work really well for removing stickers plus any residual adhesive, my favorite is Gibbs.

I told the dealer I wouldn't pay for the car if they put that crap on the back of my new car on the way.

Same here. I told them a plate frame was OK, but it was coming off as well as soon as the 30 day tag was removed.

yeah I got screwed on this one with my last car... It really pissed me of that they put the name of their dealership on my trunk with those raised metal letters.... I am sure in my wanting to just get the car and go I signed something that let them do this... But when it cam to my 135 I let then know up front not to do squat to it and no holes in the front bumper as well...

Kroil is a component of my ultra top-secret cutting-oil I have affectionately dubbed 'Uber-Lube'.:biggrin:Actually, Kroil is my second favorite penetrating oil, Gibbs being the first.
