new ding
hey guys,
Was washing my car and low and behold a tiny nick on the front bumper. 1 week and shes already scared :iono:. Ive booked my front bumper to get film protection from ozicozi (recommended by Kris). If you guys are as anal as me, you should have a look at film protection.

I am going to have nightmares. Report back on ozicozi - I think I am going to get a bra for my baby.

hey kris,
Rocked up to ozicoz last Friday to get the film installed. After examining the product i opted to only get the front bumper protected as i didn't like the look of the edge line. The edge line is hardest to see on the front bumper as the film is tucked away within the kidney grills and bumper edges(towards the front fender). The film is really transparent, i quizzed a couple of people and even my cousin who has keen eye couldn't detect the film. There are some caveats ozicozi mentioned : 1) Since im using the venture tape, i need to wax and protect it once a month(unlike the 3m product that you have). Not an issue with me, but some might not like it. 2) Ozicozi mentioned that i stay way from any product with "carnauba wax" as it will yellow the film. This also applies to 3M film. All in all I'm happy with the product and could recommend this to anyone who is willing follow the monthly maintenance schedule...

Cool.
Stay away from carnauba wax? What the hell? What's the point in waxing then? Liquid wax with carnauba and just about 100% of paste waxs are ALL carnauba based...? That pretty much means dont wax it at all. |

"to each his own" i say...i know people who couldn't give a toss about a cars apperarence, but i hate blemishes on my car...
back to the film : 1) Nufinish for example does not contain any carnauba wax. I've used this on mums car and its okay. I will use this solely for the front bumper from now on. 2) Venture tape is apparently tougher and more transparent than 3M, BUT requires allot more upkeep. Andrew mentioned i could use venture tape due to my cars colour.

Seems because we have different colors we have different films.. I'm happy with mine so far
I've asked Andrew to confirm the story with the wax - what you've said goes against everything I've heard/read. |

Kris i only knew about it when i requested a wash and wax(they did a great job btw). As the detailer was coming to the front bumper, Andrew mentioned to him "what wax are you using". It was only then i discovered the issue with carnauba wax. I was a bit surprised why he wasn't open about it...:iono:
suffice to say i have a bottle of $10 nufinish for the front bumper
