On the 4 days that it is shitty out, don't drive. You will look like every other fool.

Kamloops - yes, snow tires needed. Unless you go to Whistler a lot.

the big issue in Vancouver is the cold wet roads. the snow rarely sticks. but the best plan on those days where the roads have snow sticking, is to use the other car or don't go out with car

cold wet road = winter tires then

All-seasons would probably cut it, but summer tires would not.

I prefer to use H-rated or V-rated winter tires, like the Dunlop Wintersport M3 (available as RFT), as they still have great treadwear and give up a bit of snow traction to have better handling and dry road manners.

I have been using these for the past 4 years on several different vehicles, and they are great tires. Blizzak LM-22 are also great, but may not be available in a RFT.

www.tiretrends.com in Port Moody can help you out with all your questions. I have bought 17 tires from them in the last 5 years, and will continue to go back as long as they are in business.

I've the Dunlop Wintersport M3 on my 330i last winter, I really like the way it drives. I just want to play safe even it only snow 2 or 3 days a year in vancouver.
