Angel Eyes not working
Hello All,
Wanted to post this here in case it happens to any of you sometime. I was riding my bike to meet up with my wife for lunch, when I believe I see our 135i on the rearview mirror... but something is off, or not quite right. When I looked at the front of the car I saw the angel eye around the driver side headlight (the outermost one), I could see it was almost completely out, but not quite... just a faint light visible on it. I called it in and took it to the local dealership (great service BTW - They gave me a slot to take the car in the next day and even gave me a loaner to make it back to the office) for them to take a look at it. They diagnosis was that the bulb lighting this piece up had completely melted in place... no replacement possible. They are ordering a complete headlight assembly which should be in within 3 weeks (they are on back-order). Anyone had something similar happen to their cars? Andres |

No mods so far... just tints (I'll post about Huber-Optics tint I got on it later on).
I did not ask for euros, but I should probably give it a try... only they'll replace just one of them, soooo, I may still be stuck with different sets for each side. I'll let you know when the part is in. Andres |

Reason why he asked is many people replaced stock halo lamp bulb with aftermarket GP thunder.

Is the light output on the gp thunders just as bright as stock? My stock ones light up the night like fog lights. I love the output, i just dont like the color.

Ok, just posting a Follow-up. The dealer called on tuesday saying the headlight was in and that they could get me a loaner for next monday...
By now, the list of things they need to do to the car also includes some software for the Hi-Fi system and changing the rear break light on the trunk, which broke in place without anyone touching it. Weird! |

It is not a raking light that trails off into the distance but a abrupt light/dark line. At 65 mph I feel like I am over driving my low beam lights and only have about 1.5 seconds to react to road hazards. Is this normal or do they need adjusting? |

Ok, so here's the update.
The new headlight works fine and was installed without any delays. They put the bumper in perfectly, aligned correctly and looking as it should (I've seen some that were put back on the cars with gaps bigger than the grand canyon!). Reagrding the rear brake light, they have ordered a replacement and will be in within a few weeks. Oh, and one more... the SA will be doing some research to see if he can order Euro-headlights for the car. I'll keep you posted! |

The only problem I have w/ my headlights is condensation (w/ rain and humid conditions).
it only happened once, on day 1. the SA said its common beacuse the lights are "Vented". he said if it happens again - turn the highbeams on for about 5 to 10 minutes and the inside of the lights should dry. Does this sound normal?

Had a similar problem, except the angel eye(s) would fade completely, then re-appear. The dealer swapped out the passenger side bulb and replaced the socket on Friday, but I noticed yesterday that the problem remains.

That used to happen with a set of euro headlight I had in a E36 M3. It was the ballast for the angel eyes that would get "upset" when the temperature outside was below @ 40F.
