Except it's the same stopping power as the standard 135i brakes
Looks $h!+ hot though!

Ya, I didn't buy them, I don't even have my 1 yet. I'm just surprised that they are the same as the stock ones. The slotted/drilled rotors would be nice, I just can't imagine spending that much money for no increase in stopping power.

They were made available for the 128i, not for the 135i.

Congrats to Carbon1! Those are some nice looking stoppers.
That's it.. I'm taking those darned wings off of my brakes. They don't even come close to the pads. I see no purpose in them at all. |

I'm starting to think the wings might even be there just to make the calipers look bigger.
I know the theory about noise/vibration, but unless you plan on driving in some sort of sound proof chamber when hearing 0.5dB of extra noise from the brakes might annoy you, I say off with them too!

Hi Wayne, they seem to serve little purpose except weight. Early pics of our cars showed the same calipers, but without the wings. Now that I see the thing from this angle, it even makes less sense that they exist. Sorry to hijack the thread. |

It's really completely dependent upon what he gets for his stock setup vs. what he paid for these... If a 128 owner comes by and picks up his stock setup and the margin is reasonable I'd say it was worth it to get the yellow calipers and upgraded rotors. I'd personally do the same thing to get those on my car - yellow on JB would look sweet!

To be honest, i really thought that they were larger. I just got my car, 2-3 weeks ago and went on a spending spree. My parts department didn't know a thing about these or the suspension kit (which i'm still trying to find out what the drop is). I installed these today and found out theat they are the same exact pieces, except cross drilled and slotted. didn't even change the back rotors because they had the same part numbers engraved. But i like the color "it throughs it off" a bit with that 1 odd color in there...
