As one who gets poison ivy entirely too easily I understand your pain. I would use a soapy damp rag then a rinse rag then follow up with a leather conditioner after all is completely dry.

Oh geez, did you get the Sport Package? Could the spores embed in the leather of the wheel and knob?:iono:

Don't use rubbing alcohol, it will severely dry out your leather.

Speaking of cleaning the knob, my M shift knob is not glossy anymore but has a layer of grime on it. I've tried removing it with a disinfecting wipe, but no dice.
Any suggestions?

Product out in the Pharmacies called Technu. It is specifically made to remove poison ivy Oils from the skin after exposure. I bet it would work well on your steering wheel and shifter. Try Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens....etc.
I live in upstate NY and have some exp. w/ poison ivy

Thanks guys. I did use Technu. Worked like a charm as i did not re-infect from the wheel or knob. Prednasone is not fun at all.
detailed her yesterday and woke up this morning with a small spot that is suspicious. im thinking floor mats. mother f#@e#er |

Dr Jones,...you may go insane trying to figure out all the potential places that have Ivy 'oil' on them. I think the stuff actually spreads on your body a bit without any further contact,..bloodstream maybe? I had it early this summer, and know for a fact that I didnt have any secondary physical contact with the plant or oil, yet I was finding new "spots" on my leg for 2 weeks. They eventually got less and less over time.
My wife is really allergic to that stuff, so Ive become somewhat of an expert. Ive heard any "oil cutting" soap solution like shampoo, dawn dishwashing liquid,...etc will work well to remove the oil after initial contact also, but Technu is made for this purpose. Good luck w/ it, and remember...leaves of 3,..LET IT BE!!!
