jack, for center front jack point, under engine
anyone know what brand/model jack will fit under the front of our cars and reach the center jack stand point?
it's right in the middle of the car in the front under the cross member

that one looks like the slim section is only about 12-18" long, is that enough to reach that center point?
I know that jack will reach the side points easy

for those that dont know where the center jack stand lift point is, here's a picture of the location, it's way in there, if you scroll down there's a picture that shows the air dam removed, you can see the rubber lift point right behind the power steering, on the crossmember

I've never even seen a low profile jack that's long enough to reach it, i've got a long one at my parents for tractors, but it sure wont fit under a 135

I've got the low profile jack from Harbor Freight, but it still doesn't reach under there to the middle jacking joint. What I do now is just drive up on some boards to give it a couple inches and then the jack will reach in there fine.

I made little ramps our of 2x4s that I use to get it high enough for a harbor freight floor jack. They only raise the car 1.5 inches but that is enough. I have the sport suspension which sits a little lower, I think.

I bought this, thing is a beast and works well. Free 2day shipping from amazon prime on a (literally) 100 lb jack = win.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The only issue is it's not quite low enough to clear the front bumper (even though it's pretty low), so you just have to lift the wheel from the side first and put a 2x4 under the front tires just to give the front an extra couple inches of clearance. Not a problem on the way down since you just drive off the blocks. IIRC getting a lift low enough to clear the front outright was a couple hundred dollars more. |

It's really quite obvious, it's a recessed circle dead in the center of the car a little forward from the oil pan. There is a plastic rectangular block in the middle of the indented circle that is the jacking point.

The DK20Q reaches easily at stock height. Lowered about .75" it has trouble, but doable. You slide the whole thing under the front bumper. BTW, absolutely love the jack. Most solid low profile one I know of. With the rubber pad you won't damage your side jacking points or the rear under the diff. And price = safety first. There's your justification. |

Damn that's expen for a floor jack. I have a harbor freights racing jack, which was about $130 a few years ago. Works well enough for me.
