1st Track Event this past weekend!

Took it up to BMWCCA Event at Mid-Ohio Road Course and had an absolute blast! This was my first event that I have done period (beyond a few autocrosses and a Richard Petty Driving Experience in Charlotte). Despite my novice track experience, and the car being completely stock, I thought the car did excellent. While I did notice a bit of understeer as I tried to accelerate on some of the tighter turns, it wasn't too bad and if nothing else, it forced me to learn the better line through the turn. The brakes showed no fade and held up like a champ but am sure long term probably aren't the best pads for tracking. I was able to do quite a bit of passing on the back straightaway and was able to get it up to 130 mph before hammering the brakes before the turn. I ran in the D group (novice) and was fortunate enough to not have anyone pass me during my two days. I was able to pass most everyone in front of me except for an E46 M3 with whom I ran real close with and we had a lot of fun taunting each other. Weather was warm (mid to upper 80's) and was very surprised that my oil temps weren't getting over 250F considering the fact that it seems to run near 245F normally. I saw two other 135's there - one from Indiana that was SGM with black Oz Ultra's (but didn't get a chance to speak with the owner) and we were treated to have TC Kline himself out at the track with his beautiful rides (135i, M3 Coupe, and the Carbon Coupe). He is a class act guy who was very approachable. Attached some pic's for you guys. I am hooked now and can't wait to get out to another track event DE. If any of you are contemplating it - don't hesitate or wait for mods, you will really learn a lot about your car and yourself. Have fun and keep the shiny side up!
