Next gen X7 (G67) spied testing for first time

The next generation BMW X7 (G67) prototype has just been spied testing for the first time.

Here's what we know about the G67 X7 and G69 Alpina X7 so far (from the Future BMW Models Info Thread)

G67/G69 X7, iX7
  • In production 08/27-11/34
  • Regular models (G67) will include X7 40 xDrive, 40d xDrive, M60 xDrive, iX7 50 xDrive, 60 xDrive, M70 xDrive
  • Alpina models (G69) will include X7 40 xDrive, 60 xDrive, i7 100 xDrive
    • X7 Alpina will also have a separate chassis code, G69. This strongly suggests that we should expect the name Alpina to get a completely different meaning from what it was in the past.

Next gen X7 (G67) spied in testing for first time

I wish they would make it look nice, people love Range Rover exteriors (myself included), but RR reliability is so awful that BMW really has a chance to take some of that market share. Yet this just looks like an evolution of the current one

What did they ruin? To me it’s a heavily camouflaged test mule that looks more or less like the current model.

Different Alpina trim levels?

That's fantastic news!

Hopefully they're available in the US....

As a sidenote, I cant even imagine the curb weight of the iX7's.

Dream for me would be if they would offer the Alpina variants in a long-wheelbase non-third row option. They have said they want to better straddle the space between the 7, X7 and the Rolls Royce options. Have to offer a rear executive lounge in an SUV option to do that, IMHO.

I wish they’d make it longer, I need more space! The trunk is virtually unusable behind the 3rd row.

Hopefully they improve the X7 M60 or M70 which ever model they will call it has A better exhaust sound . Audi had killed it with the Sq7 sound

I have owed sq7,sq8, x5MC, xb7 and now an m60. Audi hands down has the better exhaust.

I really want to see the XM engine configuration in the new x7

Stupid opinion here, but I'd like to see the wheel wells beefed up just a little to give it a more menacing appearance. Looks a lot like the former version.

Oh BMW please make the kidney grills obscenely large and comical, like you’ve done on every other vehicle.

Best to head over there soon. Spy shots of Porsche's future SUVs show split headlight designs as well. It may be limited to their EV range, like Macan EV.

Pretty sure Porsche doesn’t have an equivalent model to sell you. I had heard a couple years ago they put out a feeler to their dealer network on viability of a 3-row SUV which apparently went nowhere

Pretty sure they are still coming out with the 3 row SUV. There are spy shots of the prototype, and people bring it up on the 9Y0 forums over on Rennlist once and awhile. Not sure how it will look, judging by this prototype, also rumored to start well over $200,000. Even my '24 Cayenne S E Hybrid had a higher MSRP than most of the X7s people buy, and a lot of people here call them ugly. This new X7 just looks like BMW grafted the front end from the XM on (I own a '25 XM, so I am fine with this). https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a6...uv-spy-photos/

It has been discussed in other threads. It is pretty much a given it will be longer since the X3 grew, the X5 and X7 will also.
