Direct Line Insurance

I rang Direct Line to confrim they had listed all my options on my policy to make sure they are aware of everything.

They told me that tinted glass would add £100 to my premium as the rules have changed?

I couldn't believe it. However, when I told them that on the invoice it was called sun protection glass they said that wasn't chargable. They noted I had sun protection glass which was slightly tinted and that was it.

I'm now worried that they are the same thing?

Any way to get extra cash out of us IMO, they could have used the angle that Tints, Privacy, or Sun protection glass renders the window a less likely an entry point and therefore the cars slightly more secure

Does seem strange to me when the option only cost £150 in the first place. If I knew I would be paying that every year I wouldn't have bothered

I imagine they are trying to indentify after-market tints, not factory "window options". You've told them, they've noted it. No need to worry.
