The INSIGHT @ Paris!!

Honda's cars have a tendency to look about 85-90% like the concepts. Just look at the Civic, Accord, s2000, Pilot, etc. Ditch the LED's, flat door handles, and add a more street legal bumper and you have the 2010 Insight.

$18,000 50-60mpg and 4k lower than the Prius!!

If anyone is going to come out of the economic mess stonger than before, it's Honda. They're lucky in the sense that theiir car-centric strategy is very timely, and they've made themselves very flexible and nimble. They can shift production lines from one model to another faster than anyone. Toyota, on the other hand is starting to look about as nimble as an elephant - a GM size elephant.

Maybe better looking than the 5 year old Prius, but quite the ripoff of it's design. You will not be getting 19" wheels or the schmancy headlights/tail lights on the production car either. (making it even more of a ripoff of the Prius)

The Insight was the first real production hybrid. And for you that don't know. It gets drastically better mileage than the p.o.s prius.

Because it's HALF THE SIZE! Why the hell do people say things like this? A Prius can haul four grown men in comfort. An Insight has TWO seats. Of course it gets better mileage!

As for being a POS, the Prius enjoys a very high resale rate, and one of the highest owner satisfaction ratings EVER. The only people who think it's a POS are people who don't objectively consider it.

Also, the fist generation Prius was in production BEFORE the Insight.

That was the original Insight which looked like the CRX. It was too ahead of its time and didn't sell. I don't know why they resurrected the name unless they thought so few people bought the original that no one would remember.

They knew exactly what they were doing. The first ever Honda Accord was a two-door hatchback. I dont see many people complaining. :iono:

Do you understand anything about why the Prius is shaped like that? Did you see how the first Insight was shaped?

This car will undercut the Prius by $4,000. Yeah, they really do suck. Honda is implementing the hybrid tech from this car into a motorcycle. Not a scooter. Oh yeah, they suuuuck.

Honda can kiss your ass? Why dont you grow up man. VW is STILL plagued with a ton of problems. There cars are still hit or miss.

My first car was a 2002 VW Jetta. NEVER AGAIN.

I can't stand that or the prius, they look like they are twins nearly, except one looks newer.

LOUD NOISES!!!

Have you been inside a Honda recently? For the price, it's a nice car. Seen the new Fit? If you don't like this car, fine - move along. But for some, this is the next step and a big breakthrough, and even if you are a VW fan, saying that Honda can kiss your ass is low, man.

+1 - VW's reliability issues and widely-reported poor customer service kept me from pulling the trigger on a very nice r32. I liked that car, but not enough to take a risk on it. With Honda's, you keep up regular maintenance and they'll run forever. IIRC, I heard a stat somewhere that said in the last 15 years, Honda has built like 20 million VTEC engines. You know how many were sent back to the factory with engine failure? None. That's amazing. Granted this is a hybrid, but with Honda's history, I wouldn't bet against them.

I remember - it was the s2000 vs z4 vs boxster top gear review.

I don't think they're sent back because they're easy to fix and cheap to work on yourself compared to something more along the lines of an N54. Not bashing it or anything, its a good engine, just something to consider. I would also agree about the VW thing, my aunt has gone through two and me and my cousin finally convinced her to get rid of it (well give it to her daughter to deal with hehe).

BigSlick, I just wanted to tell you that I turned over 203,000 miles today on my daily driver 1996 Honda Accord Lx. Still runs as strong as ever. Regular maintence and regular oil changes are all that is needed! Btw, I love the new 2008 Accord we just got also.

Damn, congrats man. I'm rolling over to 87,000miles on my 04 S2K. The car has been pretty flawless. I averaged 30.2mpg on my last tank of gas! Keep in mind this wasnt with conservative driving. I'm not sure if me tossing my cat and putting on a test pipe did anything. I usually got 26-7mpg with spirited driving before. I have the new car itch bad, REAL bad. I dont have a car payment but I'm waiting as long as I possibly can.
