Ouch, I was thinking about getting a GT-R for my next car. But, I wouldn't probably use LC anyway.

Maybe you should actually RTFT, it's not about that. And it should remind you of a little procedure BMW likes to do when you take your car in for anything.

Wow. No comment on that one. (Except that they should offer a version with a heavy-duty Getrag 6-speed manual for those eschew these new "fancy transmissions" and just like to drive.)

LC was one of the best features of this car. Kinda like mind blowing acceleration for dummies. And now it's discovered that you can't even use it without jeopardizing your warranty!
It looks to me like the GT-R just got a whole lot slower.

I think my issue with the whole thing is that the manual says the GT-R has LC but if you ever use it, your warranty is void. Then why have it?
In this particular case, I'm sure the guy used LC way too much and is paying for it now. But, it should allow you to use LC a few times since it can record how many times you do it.

And according to the thread, LC isn't mentioned anywhere in the owner's manual.

Since VDC must be off for LC, it still begs the question why have it available?

This is what happens to someone who does not know what ''Race Transmission'' is.
This GR6 has to be treated like a Holinger sequential tranny with care and not stupidity. You can be aggressive as much as u want only if u know what u r doing and know how ur using it, but launching it 3+ times a day is stupid. It may also be that this guy has a faulty gearbox or a weak gearbox that wasnt built probably or has a glitch or something that couldnt handle that much power.
