FS Feeler SGM 135i
For sale feeler- 2008, SGM, 135i, premium, sport, black leather, aluminum trim, Dunlop M3 17" winters on rims, plus OEMS (like those tires are worth anything LOL), iPod adaptor. Warning, this is not a likely sale, my wife likes the car, but I want to get rid of it. The reason for the sale is I don't like the car. Flame me if you want, to each his own. |

W/o putting too many words in JB135i's mouth, he's found that it doesn't meet the sporting expectations he had for it. IIRC, I think that's how he explained it.
And that's OK - a lot of folks bought the car before they could do an extended test and if you like small, high-reving, light cars - this one comes up a bit short. |

Without blathering on again...too much, and I totally admit this could have been avoided by my having more patience and getting more time in the car pre-purchase, but for me I find the car is too isolated. I have eloborated (too much maybe) in several other threads. Especially in the "is the 135 boring thread". In that thread I and a couple others explained how the 135i didn't turn out to be the car we had expected, again, my expectations were flawed moreso than the car being flawed. (cept the understeer, that's an actual undeniable issue) As to pics and info, I have been busy the last couple days so I didn't address the requests made, sorry bout that. But for now, there are pics in the SGM thread from spring, of the exterior, in the DIY kidney grill thread there are a couple, I have installed the all black ones from Dan (only mod), and in the Radio Blackout thread there are some interior pics. I should be able to take some ones specific for this thread over this weekend, after the massive storm passes this area. I will also see if I still have the window sticker to scan for an image for you guys. I would be looking to get in the high 30's for the car, I have not determined a "firm" price yet, mainly because I am still in the process of trying to get my wife to agree to even looking (yet again) at a new 2008 Porsche Cayman S. Which is going to be even more difficult because I made the mistake of telling her about the 2009's which as of now are quite and upgrade from the 2008's and could be a huge upgrade if they put in an LSD upgrade in the non-PDK cars. So she will say instantly "why don't we just wait a bit more" LOL. There is a 2008 near my location that is spec'd about 94% of how I would have done a custom order, that I think I can get for at or very near invoice. So the private sale would have to exceed the tax benefits of a trade, which would be significant. |

If my wife had a better back - I'd probably be in the Cayman S. I was thinking about that yesterday and the differences between the two cars are pretty interesting.
For a couple of reasons, however, I wanted the more GT like characteristics of the 135i (and I love inline sixes and torque - not necessarily in that order ; -) so I'm very happy with the 135i. From a numbers perspective they handle about the same. From a 'balls of the feet', 'palms of the hands','cheek of the butt' perspective they are as different as night and day. The Cayman S is a much more engaging car for the driver. But it is harder to get in and out of, pricier, and I suspect much less forgiving at the limits (as most mid-engined cars are). Good luck on whatever you decide (or maybe should I say what the boss lets you decide ; -). And know your always welcome to hang around here. |

JB135i, you are not alone and you summed up my feelings about the car very well. My 135 has been gone for a little over a week and I haven't missed it once. I took delivery of a 2006 M3 today. It just feels right.

If you really want to sell your car, you really should ask the Mods to delete this thread and start over with something that highlights the positives.
