That’s nearly identical to the spec of mine but it has a few more miles and DAB, so mine must trade at sub £20k :eyebulge:

The 135i Conv is also VERY weak at the moment - even allowing for the time of year.
Although having only had mine (silver/black leather, Auto, ProNav, Xenons, Bluetooth, HiFi, USB, FSH, Cruise, wind diff, May 2008, 7K miles, TOTALLY EXCELLENT inside and out, unscuffed alloys, two new rear tyres (had a nail in one so replaced both), I'm second (private) owner) for a month, I've decided to move it on for a TTS manual. All - and I mean ALL - the underwrites given for my car have been £22K :iono: And that for a car that listed £40K when new 7 months ago....... Glasses says Trade £26.5K, Cap Clean says Trade £25.5K, all BMW AUC dealer used 135i Auto Conv stock is £27.5-33K, but the dealers all say £22K for mine. Period. VERY dissappointing. OK, I do chop and change waaaaay too much and, as such, except a bit of a kicking financially, but even so - and even given the prevailing economic climate - I don't expect a premium car to lose virtually HALF it's value in HALF a YEAR!!!! The Forum advert for my car is here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...412#post310412 Mike |

Worst time of the year to shift a convertible.
Everyone is skint in January, and there's an Ice Age happening! Wait until Spring and prices will improve, but generally this year vehicle residuals will remain poor as the recession bites and unemployment increases. If you have a new 135i, it would make a lot of sense to get the most from the value and hold onto it for 3 years.

TTS is a great car, I really think it's fantastic looking car, and with a BluFin remap is awesome with 330bhp (very light too).
I am keen to drive one, as the only thing I didn't like in the 3.2 Coupe that I drove was the overly light steering. The magnetic dampers are superb. Best Wishes to you too!

The TT I'm getting (this week ) is the TTS variant with the four pot turbo 272ps 350Nm motor in it. And it's a manual - two things: hardly any TTS Rdstrs around with DSG and the relatively few that are around are invariably quite a bit more expensive than the manuals. Also I've had DSG before and wasn't keen. In fact, and pertinent to your comments, I've owned two TT 3.2s (both early shape) i.e. a DSG bought (new) Mar 04 and a manual bought (secondhand) mid-2006) and I MUCH preferred the manual! Whilst the manual admittedly wasn't the sweetest, it was (for me at least) better than the DSG that a) made me feel disconnected from the engine b) shunted quite a lot at low speeds/revs in town and c), and most annoyingly of all, used to - albeit occasionally but nonetheless frequently enough - belatedly (with me having impatiently revved the engine for a few seconds thinking WTF?!!) jump violently into gear when engaging reverse and rather embarrassingly lurch backwards! Subjective maybe, but I'm pleased to be getting the manual as opposed to the perhaps currently-viewed-as 'default' choice of DSG (improved tho the latest DSG undoubtedly is over the early incarnation of it I had). The car might continue to be better news residually with DSG but I don't think this will be critical for a relatively small engined sports car and any future loss in RV is offset by the far cheaper purchase cost in the first place. Best wishes, Mike PS no interest whatsoever in the 135i (Pistonheads & Autotrader). I understand what I'm up against time of year and economy etc., but I really thought someone might have a nibble at a 7 mth-old high spec premium car for 62.5% of new list price..... PPS: LATE EDIT!!!! Just (11am) had a look at 135i Convs on Autotrader....... Jesus. Sytner (various branches) have just banged TEN cars on - they all look like pre-regs (50 to 1000 miles - all likely deliv miles in reality) ALL GOOD SPECS (nearly all incl. NAV) with manuals ASKING £25850 and autos ASKING £26850.......... needless to say I just deleted my own ad...... Sooooo glad I've already bagged the deal moving on my own 135i Conv as per my above post. |

Despite my comments on the DSG, you have gone for the best combo, the 4 pot and manual 6 speed in a great marriage, I drove an S3 a while back, which had no shunt a slow speed and the Turbo came in with a satisfying rush. :w00t: |
