How wide of a tire I can put on stock rims for a 135i?
I keep getting mixed answers on how wide of a tire I can put on the stock rims front and rear. Please let me know if you are 100% sure. Just want to get some good tires for street use and don't want to risk spending money for something that will no fit. BMW's are new to me, I was able to stuff a 255 on an 8" wide rim on my STI.
Thank you all!! |

335i's standard 18'' wheels:
- front 8Jx18: 225/40/18 - rear 8.5Jx18: 255/35/18 Since 135i's rims have the same width (8J front, 8.5J rear), no problem putting those dimensions on. Anything larger - someone else will have to answer. Hope this helps. |

This configurator will let you check out various combinations. The ones shown by Joey will work, they are slightly higher and wider but not by an excessive amount. |

If you want to try 235 up front, contact Gill at Tirerack (a board sponsor) and ask him about specific tires you have in mind - he'll tell you right away what will work and what not.
