Installing fire extinguishers in an E92 M3?
Anyone installed the above and if so how, and what parts are required please?
We have an upcoming BMW track day and without the extinghuisher the cars will fail thre scutineering. Thanks for any help in advance.

Velcro will fail tech. Find a hard mount, most DEs may also require a halon type charge and have a minimum size. I use a 2.5# Safecraft. http://www.livermoreperformance.com/...e_systems.html |

you're absolutely right. How do I DARE?? to express my opinion. This isn't a discussion forum after all. I did admit to my answer not being logical. And the fact that my advice wasn't the smartest, maybe it's time for you to share your wisdom. you know what? we should just bitch about everyone else that puts in their 5 cents, like your last 25 posts. |

Where would you suggest mounting? Can you mount to the front of the seat or to the floor in front of the drivers seat? Any mounting suggestions would be appreciated.

I mounted mine at the drivers seat, it's accessible in a real incident and may only require slight loosening the shoulder straps of the harness to reach. If it's a track car try to think of being harnessed in, hanging upside-down in a cabin full of smoke and you get the idea (first thing is to get the F out of course...), although in a street/track car there will always be compromises. You might call B-K and see if this universal mount will fit the E9X, looks like some trimming of the plastic front skirt may be necessary. http://www.bkauto.com/bmw/r9540.php |
