AC Schnitzer Racing Supension

Does anyone have the ACS racing suspension? I was looking at this on CEC's website and it looks interesting.

ACS springs have been reported on: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202004. Are you talking springs + shocks?

Racing suspension kit is a whole new suspenion kit, not just springs.
I have ACS springs now but I'll upgrade it to racing suspension kit soon.
Check this post, Frank@CEC has racing suspension kit on his M3.

Here are some shots of the system while I was installing...

The suspension his height adjustable as well as 20 position dampening adjustable. The stiffness can be easily adjusted by turning the front wheels and clicking the red anodized knob clockwise. On the rear you can adjust the knob by reaching behind the wheel from the side of the rear bumper. (2 min total) For those with EDC, ACS offers a control module which will eliminate the function and not display any EDC faults. The range of adjustability this suspension offers is incredible. You can have a comfortable daily driver, and a couple clicks later, you're track ready.

I am very interested in these... How much? And in the photo of the white M3 is that the lowest these go?

Yes this is the suspension system I was referring to. It looks very nice. I would be primarily interested in the track performance of this kit. Does acs offer camber plates?

Pricing can be found here:

http://www.cecwheels.com/tunerproduc...3/3SeriesE92M3

There are plenty of sponsors on this board that are authorized dealers, so feel free to use your favorite.

The suspension as seen in the pics is set to -5 mm lower than ACS suggested specs. It will go a bit lower in the front, and about .75 inches lower in the rear. The control module for those with EDC is not included in the price list, but is currently available. This module lists for $795. ACS has not released camber plates for the E9X M3 yet.

So is this a coilover system or what? 795 sounds cheap!

$795 is for the module that eliminates the EDC function for those who have EDC and would like to run this suspension.

This is a very nice suspension. Do you have any track time with this suspension? Track performance is my primary purpose in buying a coilover suspension.

This suspension was developed and tested at the Nurburgring. It shares no components with the standard E92/93 version. It was engineered solely for the E9X M3.

The following info was taken from ACS Germany's official press release:

This suspension consists of "upside-Down" dampers and coil springs for the front axle, and dampers and springs with multipiece aluminum height adjustment for the rear. This not only makes steering behavior more precise, but significantly improves traction. The limit zone is moved perceptibly upwards, as reflected by lap times. Two adjustable parameters characterize the racing suspension, so bound and rebound dampening are variably adjustable via a knob. This means the damper characteristics can be easily and quickly set to the dampening force required. This innovation in "upside-down" design is constructed as a monotube system and is characterized by many advantages:

* fast response
* wide adjustment range
* low weight
* simple handling

In this "upside-down" construction, the piston rod doesn't point up towards the fixing point, but down towards the wheel mounting. The advantages: The heavier components are attached to the bodywork, the lighter ones to the suspension. So the unsprung mass id reduced. The system even absorbs high transverse forces very efficiently, is extremely robust and ensures a long useful life. This system has already proven successful in motor racing.

They do not post any lap times, but I will ask them and update the thread.

Thanks for the additional information. I would be curious to see if they have lap times. How long would it take to get this suspension? Does ACS offer sway bars too?

The suspension is in stock now in the U.S. Sway bars are not yet offered for the E9X M3.

my friend has this set up in Taiwan.

He thinks is OK . don't know about the spring rate but the ride is comfortable. and there are like 20 settings or something along those lines. But I think these coilovers are expensive. Maybe its cheaper in the states I don't know.

Can you elaborate a little bit more on why it is "OK". For example, does it feel stiff enough for the track?

From that I have read so far, they seem to be SA shocks and monotube.
