Exclamation Koni Challenge Race - Homestead-Miami Speedway March 14-15 FREE Admission

http://grand-am.com/koni/

Thats right!

March 14-15, 2009

Grand-Am is trying to promote the Koni Challenge Series by making the second race of the season at Homestead FREE to all spectators.

Here is the website to download your FREE ticket: http://grand-am.com/koni/news/index.cfm?cid=20735
Print as many as you want for friends and family.

Also, infield parking will be available for car club corals. The price for this is FREE! I just need a car count for each group.

SATURDAY is the best day. Although both days are filled with racing.

VENDORS: You can set up a tent and table with parts, a show car or anything else you can imagine. I only need to know the space requirements you will be needing. As further details arise I will pass them on. Oy yea its FREE for you too.

The track will have its concession stands open selling food, drinks and beer. However you can bring your own beer in a soft sided cooler.

Basically we need you to help spread the word. The more people the better. Homestead-Miami Speedway is looking for 5000 people. Hopefully this will encourage them to do this event next year with greater benefits to you.

Kinetic Motorsports brand brand new e92 M3. It was never run in neither of the 2 pre-season tests. 1st lap, 1st race, exiting turn 1 a Mustang taps it in the rear and sends Nick Johnson head on into the pit exit concrete wall at 80 mph. Car is presumed to be TOTALED! cost of a new e92 from BMW Motorsports is $200,000. ouch

To downlaod your free tickets: http://www.grand-am.com/konitickets/

SATURDAY
Be there by 9am if your late you will have to wait to be sent in.

for those who have never driven inside the speedway here is a simple map of how to get there and where the car corals will be.

- Take Turnpike South
- Get off on Exit 6 - Speedway Blvd. (SW 137th Ave.)
- Make a left at the light and go all the way down.
- Pass in front of the speedway, and make a left at the stop sign (Palm Dr. - SW 334th St.)
- Make a left towards the building behind the speedway.
- PARK on the grass in front of the credentials office. I will be there handing out the parking passes and organizing your entrance as a group into the paddock.

RED circle is the Credentials office. You will park on the grass across from thIS building to receive your parking pass.

BLUE circle is the security gate, if your late and try to get in without a parking pass, they will stop you.

YELLOW circle is where the car corals will be.

SUNDAY if you are not there by 9am, you will not be able to park your car inside. There will not be any leeway like Saturday.

Its going to be a great weekend!

I will be there, but not in my own. Driving in my mother's S.O.'s brand new M3. First time I will be driving it as well. Should be interesting, and I will post my thoughts on the comparison between the two.

Birel186, we probably won't get there in time to park inside, but when walking around, where will the BMW's be, so we can come over and see?

they'll be in the paddock. no worries you find them, track isn't that big!

should be a great day. LOTS and LOTS of spins going into turn 1 over the past 2 days of practice should be a great place to watch. Or if you make the journey out to turn 8 hairpin, always a great spot.

Attachment 248864I went Saturday.
Good stuff: The ST race was very cool. Quite lively, interesting on how the drivers did, lots of great cars.
Bad stuff: Not enough people. Granted, I don't like huge crowds, but I wish more people would have attended, to help the Racing Series keep going. There needs to be more advertising of the races.

I looked around for 1Series, but none to be had. I did see a group, Active Autowerke, spoke with "Jean", they seem to be doing some really fun stuff with their cars. One E92 M3 Sedan with a supercharger that was pushing 600+whp, now that is something to see. Jean, good to meet you, good luck with your incredible mods.

Not too many spinouts, just seeing the Mazda's have some issues (other than #145 of course, who won), and the Subaru had a BAD choice of tires. The E46 BMW's had some work to do, they kept bunching up. One thing I did see that was interesting, the #197 Mini directly taking on the E90 and beating it, both in turns and on the flat out runs. The "BMW" Minis definitely drove well.

I wish I had seen some 1Series out there, either racing or even in the parking lot. A bit disappointed in that.

If anyone wants more pics, I will add.

Birel, I looked for any 1series to see if I could find you, but nada. Well, let's hope that some of the SoFL people will gang up and make a Meet soon.
