Great Driving Roads in Chicago Area
Been living for two years now, still haven't found the perfect substitutes of the sea-to-sky highway back in my hometown Vancouver. So really, where do guys go when you just wanna throw everything to the back of you mind for awhile? Is there really not a good place to drive at here?

see thats what I was gonna say but he never responded where he lived. I always do Lake Cook and head south till I go through the ravines sections then turn around on Tower, go through them again and turn around once more heading south then take Tower back to 90/94. hat place is so much fun and I organized an Acura meet like a year or two ago when I had my TSX at the Skokie Lagoons and we went and did it a few times... 13 Acuras and a 335 all following each other through the twisties was a shit load of fun.

I moved here after 7 years in San Diego. Had a well-modded E36 M, and it was a blast to go driving. There were great driving roads a stone's throw away, no matter what kind of road you were looking for.... Canyons, mountains, beach cruising.... man, I miss it a lot. I just figured there was no way to match that out here.
Makes me think my BMW was worth a lot more to me when I was out in Cali, simply because I could enjoy it twice as much. Between the seasons, lack of drivers' roads, and the conditions of the pavement, there is a noticeable difference to me. I'm not saying I don't like having the bimmer out here; I'm just thinking I was spoiled rotten with the conditions out there. Wouldn't go back if you paid me to, though. SD is a great place to visit or live temporarily, but everything's expensive as hell, people suck ass, I hate Chargers fans, and I like having actual seasons. |

Well, I'm a Lions fan, so it was kinda disappointing going to the game in SD a couple years ago (the season we started 6-2), and be down 35-something at half. We lost Sixtysomething to 20 or whatever. Anyway, it just sucked with everyone in their powder blue jerseys who can't name more than three players on the roster and know nothing about football.
At least Bears, Packers, and Vikings fans will actually back up their shit-talking with some sort of football knowledge. |

thats very true... chargers and football weren't relevant in SD until LT came into the league and then people started following them. Bears fans have been around since 1920... we know our shit.

Got it.
Barrington and Northwest Palatine has some good driving roads. That is ONE of two things I miss about Massachusetts - the great driving roads. Those great roads also make it nigh impossible to navigate properly to a new location. |
