No Front Lic. Plates in NJ?

I know it is techincally illegal not to have your front license plates in NJ, but I've orderded my 128i w/ the aero kit, and I really don't want that ugly NJ plate ruining the look of the front bumper. I was considering just putting my front plate on the passenger side of the dash, but I feel like that looks to cheesy. Is anyone out there driving around w/o their front plates in NJ, and if so, have you been pulled over often by the cops for it? I see cars all the time w/o their front plates, but I'm just not sure what to do. Any input is appreciated, thanks!

I live in California, and even though I am usually not much of a law abiding citizen, I do NOT want to get pulled over. So I went and grabbed myself one of the towhook mounts for the front lic. plate. In fact, both our MINI and the 1er have this kind of lic. plate holder.

Here's a pic:

You can buy them here.

Just do what I do - stick the plate in the trunk, but get one of the under-bumper mounting kits too. Had one cop ask me about the plate and I showed him the plate and the kit and he was fine. Still haven't installed it yet....

its not really ''illegal'' i've heard from several ppl/cops that as long as its in plain view from the front of the vehicle, they can only really give you a hard time... i keep my plate on the dash... everytime i get asked why by a cop, i say i got a new bumper installed and the bracket ddnt get put on, and i show them the bracket.

ah ha, i like it. i can just keep the license plate and braket under the passenger seat, so if a cop asks me why i don't have it mounted, i show it to him and just say the bumper is aftermarket and the mounting brackets won't fit on it....

been running without a front plate for about 2 years now and no ticket yet *knock on wood*. cops tend to not give bmw's a hard time over it in NJ
