Is this a good deal? 09' 335xi

I'm about to lease a 2009 335xi sedan, Manual Transmission, Premium, Cold + Ipod / USB. The dealer is going to order the car (none in stock at any dealership in tri-state area). Montego Blue/Oyster/Aluminum.

Sticker: $47,725
Agreed Price: $44,905 (invoice + 500 dealer profit + 480 maco)

36 month, 12k/year lease is ~2300 down (first payment, security deposit, bank fee, doc fee ($45) and DMV fees (plate transfer)).

Monthly $685.27

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Not very sure about the lease prices, but I've heard repeatedly on this forum that you should never put money down on a lease.

This is what's called "no money down" for lease =) Or at least very close to it...

Anyone leased or shopped for a similar car lease? What were your payments?

Thanks!!!

Based on your sticker and negotiated prices, I calculate $648/mo + tax, assuming $0 cap cost reductions, .0020 money factor and 56% residual.

Yeah, that seems a tad high especially when you're putting money down, might want to take a second look at that.

I'm really putting down only a bank fee + dmv + 45 doc...
First month's payment, got to pay it sooner or later
and a refundable security deposit....

Well, that's the best I found

I've ordered the car... so hope my prices help someone shopping for a similar vehicle....

p.s. Had a good experience at BMW of NYC, best price and thus far exactly as quoted over email.
The only "surprise" was the $50 "fuel" surcharge.. didn't expect it from BMW but didn't say anything

Looks good to me.

Your negotiated price is fair. Make sure you are paying only $725 for the bank fee and check your MFs and Residual against the monthly listing on Bimmerfest (Ask The Dealer section).

Is that monthly payment including NY sales tax?

I've been doing some research on lease myself and I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that you don't pay maco for lease and also no security deposit if you are a returning customer.
You might want to check that out?

yes, that includes NY sales tax + obviously interest on it (as i'm rolling it in into the monthly payments)

Residual is 58% and Money Factor is 0.002 (or 4.8% )

That's what i thought too, but every single dealer in tri-state area wanted MACO...

BMW's invoice is usually at 93% of MSRP; so if I take the Invoice from edmunds + add MACO it comes out about right......

You pay MACO on a lease. You don't pay it on Euro Delivery.

Seems a bit high to me. I priced today an '09 335xi coupe basically fully loaded (54k+ sticker) and it came out to right around $700 depending on exactly which car. This was with 3k total out of pocket and NJ sales tax (7%). For comparision a '09 335xi sedan fully loaded with 52.5k sticker came out to $670 also 3k out of pocket.

Sounds good =) I wasn't able to find anything cheaper then what I posted....

p.s. There's a huge difference between picking a car from the inventory and having them to custom order one for you

The rate of $670 for the sedan was for a car at port, not in my dealers inventory. For dealer inventory cars (outside of my particular dealer, i.e. some other state, etc.) they add between 500-1000 to bring the car in. I would imagine that ordering the car is much like bringing in a car from port. Not to mention you are only giving the dealer $500 profit, which is the case in my scenario as well, whether the car is ordered or not.

Also - $670 was for a basically fully loaded 52.5k car (tiptronic, sport+paddles, premium, cold weather, idrive, ipod), so I believe that comes out a good bit cheaper than what you posted (when factoring NY/NJ tax difference).

I have a similar setup to the OP but with sports package and comfort access instead of the premium package. Also have the 6FL.

I already have the car on order, and put down ~3200 at 585 a month. Not sure if I got a good deal.

However, I thought a premium package at $685 (OP price) with $1000 less downpayment was a bit steep, no?
