found a good deal on 335i from small dealership

Hey guys I found a good deal on this 335 at a small dealership (Not BMW dealership). Are those deals too good to be true? Is there something I should be aware of? Would I get the BMW standard warranty? Would there be warranty's they're offering? Thoughts?

Sorry I don't really want to list the car and the site here someone might bid for that deal!

Used car lots will offer warranty packages for vehicles sold that are no longer under the original factory warranty.

Used car dealers have "their own" mechanic who will "go over" the car to determine what, if any, repairs need to be performed. If you're serious about checking this car out then for your own sake ........ take it to an independant mechanic who has experience with BMW cars. If you can afford it ....... a BMW dealer would be the best. They'll find EVERYTHING.

I realize it's tough to walk away from a sweet deal and I'm not saying you necessarily should from this one. If it were me, the car would be gone over by the dealer (or experienced BMW mechanic), a vehicle history would HAVE TO BE made available to me and an explicitly detailed warranty (if not already in effect) would have to be available for the car.

CPO cars are really the way to go AND if you think a deal is too good to be true ......... well, you know how that line goes.

Not all, but a lot of the small dealers are shady. Often they pick up their cars at dealer auctions. Usually they buy a number of cars in auction and finance the cars hoping they will sell. If they end up stuck with cars they go under financially if not run well and cars can get repossessed right off their lot. This can actually be seen on an episode of Repomen (bad reality TV show). Anyways cars at auction could be in fine shape but also could be problematic. As everyone else said its best to go with CPO if possible.

WTF? Year? Mileage? Options? Price?
We do not need the VIN or who is selling the darn thing but if you need advice, give out the basic info!

2008 335i mt, 16,600 miles, no navi. I checked it out the exterior and interior looks flawless. Their asking is $35,900 still under factory warrenty. Thoughts? I think I can talk them down. Since their not CPO.

get the VIN and make sure its not a lemon buyback or have any known problems. See how many owners it had , etc. Definitely do a carfax, its not always accurate but I would if buying from a small dealer.

So, I'm guessing you already did the Carfax run thru, right?

What are the options on the car besides not having Nav.??

Seems to me that the price is high ....... even if it's loaded without the Nav .......

Very well said and i like the funny lines " their own mechanic" and " will go over". I heard that s$%t way too many times.
Just stick with the CPO even if you have to pay a little bit more. In the long run it will cost you a lot more on repairs and problems that you don't know about now and you cannot avoid to have in the future.
