My ship has come in

Hi,

Eagerly awaiting arrival of my new E90, and first BMW, which is on the 'Otello', which I noticed arrived in Halifax this morning. Yea! A few more weeks and the car will be at the dealer for spring driving. For those of you waiting further down the east coast the ship leaves for New York, I think, at 4:30 this afternoon. I found the Daily Status report at www.portofhalifax.ca useful for tracking the ship's arrival time for the two or three days before it arrived.

I noticed that among the services offered by the autoport facility were body work, inspections, installation of phones and radios - which all make sense. They also offer to install sunroofs on imported cars. Does anyone know why car exporters would want the sunroof installed in the destination country, rather than at the factory?

Looking forward to spring.
