Velocity Motoring 18 inch fitment update?

First time poster. Looking for updates on the future availability of 18" wheel fitments from Velocity Motoring. Love the 710 and the new 713. Tough decision that will be, but one thing that's for sure is I'd much rather go with an 18" wheel to absorb the super smooth Michigan pavement.

+1000. I've been looking at the 710s for a while but won't purchase till they're available in 18s.

I say get a back brace, comfy seats and man up to the 19s. Okay, just playing there In all seriousness, the majority of our customers run 19" wheels without issues. You are running a 35 and 30 profile tire which is enough cushion to protect against a stiff ride and pot holes. I actually find the 19s to be a bit softer than the OEM RFTs which are notoriously harsh due to the stiffer sidewall.

I would also have to mention that the stock run flat tires are awful in terms of ride quality. They're getting better, but they still do create a lot of uncomfortable ride qualities when driving around.

I would personally suggest going with a set of 19s with a good quality tires that are made of good quality rubber like Michelin or so.

I too am waiting for any brand to finally bring out something in 18.

Although I hear what you are saying Nick...here in Denver, we get freak rain storms in the summer, so having the taller sidewall on the 18's would be really nice to have. I can actually post pictures of what our summer rain storms look like and I can guarantee you that the water levels are higher than the sidewall of the 30/35 series tires

We do have plans on releasing the V710's in 18" and we are getting close to an announcement. If you're looking for a set in the meantime, I would suggest going for the new V713 with some nice non-RFT's. You'll be a lot happier getting those stiff tires off!

Thanks Charles. That's what I was hoping to hear. Hope to get the announcement soon. The snow is gone, salt ring off my carpet, and its time to ditch the RFTs for a summer package. Plan to pair the 18" 710 with some Pilot Sport 2s and have a blast.

Bumping for good reason. The time is here! Just ordered my 18" VMR 710s from JLeviSw. Funny actually, was just about to call and settle on the 19s when I saw the 18s on the website (apparently had only been there like 30 minutes per my salesperson).

Should receive them in late April. Then the thread won't be worthless, because there'll be pics.

Bottom line

Front: 18 x 8.5 w/225/40/18
Rear: 18 x 9.5 w/255/35/18
Wrapped with Bridgestone RE-11

Thanks Velocity Motoring and JLevi for making my day. Now its time to wait.

Wish granted - we now have them on the site. We also have Gunmetal and Matte Black if looking to change up the colors a bit.

Our pleasure Ian, thank you for your business! You were the first ever to order a set of these, before they were even announced. We put them on the site and were waiting for the "go-ahead" from Velocity to post about them, and you were johnny-on-the-spot

I had discussed this setup with Ian and gave him the option, he chose to run OE tire sizes which are a little more conservative.

As promised here are some pics of the newly released 18" fitment VMR 710s. Mounted and balanced with Potenza RE-11s by JLeviSW. Wheels arrived well packaged in two boxes. After an evening applying wheel wax while they were off the car, the factory 17x8s came off and on these went. MAJOR improvement both aesthetically and in terms of performance on all accounts. Not only has traction, turn-in, and overall roadholding improved dramatically (as would be expected with a dedicated summer tire), but comfort is up as well having ditched the RFTs.

There are plans for KW3s in the future so please leave the fender gap comments to a minimum

I've got perma-grin and can say that this is one strong/clean looking wheel that only looks better in person.

I think you just sold me on these, they look fantastic! And the fender gap isn't horrible, I could live with it for awhile.

Definitely plan on posting some better pics down the line. The wheels are even better in person than I'd hoped and compliments and slack-jawed stares are a daily occurrence. Thanks VMR for listening to us Midwest folk and making the 18s a reality. Love the RE-11s. Great tire and worthy successor to the RE-01R.
