trying to buy my leased car....help?
so my residual is $27k and checking blue books my 06 330i zpp, zcp, zsp w/17k miles is listed as 18-21k. So I called up the dealer and asked them to strike a deal. They said no. If I want to buy my car it will cost residual plus CPO fee so in total $29k because they claim they can sell it for $32k. There are a dozen cars similar to mine here in Seattle for $23-24k No way in hell am I paying $5k more than I have to.
Should I just let it go? Or buy a low priced second car while i wait for the 5?

Try another dealer. Ask them to look up the current buyout value, and it should be less than your residual. My first dealer would only shave $1k off my residual, but I eventually found a dealer that sold it to me for nearly $6k less.

+1. It is definitely worth your time to talk to a few other dealers and see what they can offer you. Given the economy, someone will probably be willing to work with you.

I talked to one....only 2 left.
the guy wasn't very professional. I seriously doubt he can sell my 06 330i for $32k even if it is CPO when they are selling a 335 for $29k at the same dealer...cpo.

I have a 2007 335 with the Res. at 32K and the auction value here in SoCal is coming in about 25K. Should be less than 2k to CPO the car depending on what is required. Just some comparison info for you. 24 month lease with 24,000 miles

The OP's dealer seems like an asshat. My dealer off the bat(while signing the contract at the start of the lease) said to not even care about the residule on the contract and they'll be able to knock a couple $K off and to contact them when I'm about 6 months out before lease turn in.
I'm calling them tomorrow.
