Red face Need your thoughts on this DEAL!

Alright, first and foremost thank you bimmerpost for all the great info.

Here's my dilemma. Last Saturday decided that now was a good time to purchase a bimmer, considering how the economic is plus knowing the upcoming TAX hike from the state of CA

Found a 2008 E90 335i, 8,959 miles, AW and Lemon/Black interior fully loaded except PDC, HD Radio. car is "BMW Certified Pre-Owned" w/ 3 year left off the factory warranty and two more from the BMW extended one.

The stealler was asking MSRP $36,895 and negotiated to $35,395 - $1,500 off. so far its seems a good deal I think but, what's bothering me is that this car was sold on 06/25/2008 @ an AUCTION

P.S. I'm paying cash for this car.

Thanks man. Well, according to the CARFAX which by the way, I dont believed everything they say, states that the car holds a clean tittle and that often "Dealers routinely buy and sell millions of used vehicles at auction each year, Listed as a fleet vehicle"

Thats a great price for that car. Definitely do it if you can't find any supporting evidence of issues with it. Plus you still got the warranty for another 3 years or 40K miles no?

That's correct, the car still have 3 more years to go. Honestly, I really like the car it's just one of those things when you want to make sure everything is clear and there's no surprises down the road....

Cheers

Its a lot of money, so I would definitely becareful.

I was looking at an auctioned car as well. One safe thing to note is that you have the original warranty for a while. Just make sure the car doesn't have any mods in so that your warranty is voided...

Good point man, yea I'm looking to everything @ this moment and came to find out that the previous owner is a doctor. The car has no mods so from that stand point I'm not too concern...

Thanks Cheer!

I wouldn't worry about getting a car that came through the auction as long as you have both maintenance and warranty left. Many times a car gets traded to a non BMW dealer and they might not want it in their inventory for one reason or another,so it goes to the auction.I would prefer to buy a pre owned BMW from a BMW dealer,an Audi from an Audi dealer,etc.....or private party as long as I can get vehicle history and it still have warranty time left !

Thanks IrvRobinson, I made up my mind and went back to the dealer today, dropped a check and took home my new baby

came to realized after asking questions to the SA that, this car was a REPO! that was such a relive, it actually felt really good....

It's a used car...there will ALWAYS be surprises. At least you have the factory warranty to back you up.

Someone probably installed a JB3, drove the shit out of it, and put it away wet every night. Good luck.

Agreed - for only $3000 more you get a brand new one. That would be worth the trip to Pleasanton or print those deals and walk into your local dealership.

That would be really bad for this dealer if that is the case as all these cars are listed under "New Vehicles" on their website.

@ Nikolas - Alright, called back this AM and spoke w/ Bill, Internet SA. He stated that these cars are sold as NEW because they're not titles plus they have low mileages...

He also mentioned that, he's open to negotiation even though they're already 10k below MSRP due to the amount of 09 inventory. In my opinion it's a GREAT deal, unfortunately I've already took the plunge w/ mine.
